So lately I've been really interested in making lip balm (purely because I've noticed my lips have been dry and frankly, I just couldn't be bothered to go out) and I've found several websites quite useful but I thought that some websites didn't quite manage to give me as much detail as I wanted so here's my version, enjoy!
What you will need:
-A small pot (preferably 5ml as this is your first go and feel free to use old lip balm containers. You can also buy them from Ebay, here's an example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5ml-Empty-Mini-Jars-x-10-CLEAR-with-BLACK-Lids-Craft-Travel-Pots-/121162076156?pt=UK_Storage&hash=item1c35d28ffc
-A small spoon
-A mini container that you can use to hover it over the pot
-Water :)
-Crayons (most crayons are non-toxic but if you wish, use Crayola Crayons as they are 100% non toxic
-Vaseline (or some sort of petroleum jelly)
- Olive oil (you can use oils like lavender oil to give it a fragrance)
Instructions:
1. Prepare your pots so that you can easily pour in the lip balm
2. Boil water in a small saucepan
3. Take your mini container and pour in a teaspoon of olive oil, a teaspoon of Vaseline and 3 quarters of a crayon
4. Place your mini container over the saucepan and wait for it to melt, (this would usually take 15 min)
5. Make sure you stir it a few times to help it melt quicker and make sure that no water goes in it!
6. Pour the mixture into your small pot and enjoy your new lip balm!
As you can see it is pretty simple and easy as long as you have the right ingredients, and don't forget that there's nothing wrong with trial and error!
Have a good day and I hope you succeed ;) xo
