It's that time of the year when students are getting their grades and having witnessed some receive both good and bad grades, it makes me quite conscious of my future and how it's all going to end up for me. I guess seeing others uncomfortable of their results makes me quite worried and determined for when it's my time to be sitting down in a quite room with a test paper right in front of me.
And it certainly doesn't help when you have parents that expect standards and rely on you to have good grades. Evidently, it all gets quite stressful, but how do you actually handle all the pressure?
Well, I can tell you with confidence that pushing it all away till the last minute DEFINITELY is not a valid solution. But in fact thinking about it before it even starts helps you to gradually get used to the idea that you'll soon be taking tests that could possibly plan out your future for the next 10 years or so. That was a bit dramatic, but it's true. It's not going to be easy so I've made a sort of plan that I hope will prepare me and help you as well... ;)
1. Concentrate on studying the subject which you are less incompetent at
2. Talk to others who have felt that they did not get satisfactory grades to help you understand that if you don't pass, you won't be left with the bestest feeling
3. Write yourself a letter talking about how much you want to succeed and what it would mean to your family if you did a good job, you can then read the letter every time you feel discouraged
4. Be clear about what you want for your future so that you will always be reminded of it and make you feel more determined and know why you are working hard
5. Tell yourself that you will succeed ;)
I hope this does help you and maybe make you more at ease if you are worried about tests and getting grades that you desire..
Thanks for reading!
