Grades, Pressure, Stress and Expectations

It's that time of the year when students are getting their grades and having witnessed some receive both good and bad grades, it makes me quite conscious of my future and how it's all going to end up for me. I guess seeing others uncomfortable of their results makes me quite worried and determined for when it's my time to be sitting down in a quite room with a test paper right in front of me.
And it certainly doesn't help when you have parents that expect standards and rely on you to have good grades. Evidently, it all gets quite stressful, but how do you actually handle all the pressure?
Well, I can tell you with confidence that pushing it all away till the last minute DEFINITELY is not a valid solution. But in fact thinking about it before it even starts helps you to gradually get used to the idea that you'll soon be taking tests that could possibly plan out your future for the next 10 years or so. That was a bit dramatic, but it's true. It's not going to be easy so I've made a sort of plan that I hope will prepare me and help you as well... ;)

1. Concentrate on studying the subject which you are less incompetent at
2. Talk to others who have felt that they did not get satisfactory grades to help you understand that if you don't pass, you won't be left with the bestest feeling
3. Write yourself a letter talking about how much you want to succeed and what it would mean to your family if you did a good job, you can then read the letter every time you feel discouraged
4. Be clear about what you want for your future so that you will always be reminded of it and make you feel more determined and know why you are working hard
5. Tell yourself that you will succeed ;)

I hope this does help you and maybe make you more at ease if you are worried about tests and getting grades that you desire..

Thanks for reading!

How to make Lip Balm

So lately I've been really interested in making lip balm (purely because I've noticed my lips have been dry and frankly, I just couldn't be bothered to go out) and I've found several websites quite useful but I thought that some websites didn't quite manage to give me as much detail as I wanted so here's my version, enjoy!

What you will need:
-A small pot (preferably 5ml as this is your first go and feel free to use old lip balm containers. You can also buy them from Ebay, here's an example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5ml-Empty-Mini-Jars-x-10-CLEAR-with-BLACK-Lids-Craft-Travel-Pots-/121162076156?pt=UK_Storage&hash=item1c35d28ffc
-A small spoon
-A mini container that you can use to hover it over the pot
-Water :)
-Crayons (most crayons are non-toxic but if you wish, use Crayola Crayons as they are 100% non toxic
-Vaseline (or some sort of petroleum jelly)
- Olive oil (you can use oils like lavender oil to give it a fragrance)

Instructions:

1. Prepare your pots so that you can easily pour in the lip balm
2. Boil water in a small saucepan
3. Take your mini container and pour in a teaspoon of olive oil, a teaspoon of Vaseline and 3 quarters of a crayon
4. Place your mini container over the saucepan and wait for it to melt, (this would usually take 15 min)
5. Make sure you stir it a few times to help it melt quicker and make sure that no water goes in it!
6. Pour the mixture into your small pot and enjoy your new lip balm!

As you can see it is pretty simple and easy as long as you have the right ingredients, and don't forget that there's nothing wrong with trial and error!

Have a good day and I hope you succeed ;) xo

Models and that crave for size 0.

So is anyone else still disgusted by the bodies of our generation's models? It's disgusting and embarrassing that the society is portraying such a bad image . And everyone wonders why girls are so self conscious about their weight! Why wouldn't we be when we have to see this in magazines. And we have to hear that THIS is the way you have to be to become a model. I read once that a model was eating WOOL to maintain her figure. That's just not healthy. How has modelling come to this and why!? I hope it changes soon and I hope you agree too!

BYEEEEE! x

Is smart the new sexy? (WARNING: SEXY PICTURES OF MEN)

So I was looking through some fashion magazines and came across the section where men pose. And it startled me how all of them seemed to be wearing suits and ties. When you first think about it, it sounds a bit...neeky? But when you actually see them, somehow your opinion changes completely!

After looking at those pictures, what do you think!? Could smart be the new sexy!?
